A safe's tested time-at-temperature protection for its contents — commonly 30, 60 or 120 minutes.
Why it matters
Fire and burglary protection are different engineering; a document box that survives flames may open in seconds under a pry bar. Buy for the risk you actually care about, or buy composite.
