Agreement to these terms

Effective date: July 2, 2026. These Terms of Use govern lightninglockandkey.com, operated by Lightning Lock & Key Inc. of Truckee, California. Using the site means you agree to them. Locksmith work itself is governed by the estimate or invoice for that job.

What this site is

The site describes locksmith services across the Truckee–North Lake Tahoe region and lets you request service. Content is general information, not a binding offer; every job is subject to a direct estimate.

Estimates & pricing

Phone estimates are free and given in good faith based on what you describe. Final pricing reflects the actual work required and is confirmed with you before work begins; if scope changes on site, we re-quote first. Weekend emergency call-outs carry an emergency rate, quoted plainly before the van rolls.

Service area & conditions

We serve Truckee, Donner Lake and Donner Summit, the Olympic Valley corridor, Tahoe City and the California North and West Shores, and — on the Nevada side — Kings Beach’s neighbors at Crystal Bay and Incline Village, as described on the site. Mountain weather and chain controls affect response times; we give honest ETAs, not slogans.

Proof of authority

For lockouts, rekeys and key origination we may require identification and reasonable proof you are authorized to access the property or vehicle, and we may decline work where authority cannot be established. This protects you and every property owner we serve; it is standard practice for licensed locksmiths.

Acceptable use of the site

• No unlawful, deceptive or fraudulent use; no requesting entry to property or vehicles you have no right to access.
• No scraping, bulk harvesting or automated form submissions; forms use bot protection and abusive traffic may be blocked.
• No attempts to probe, disrupt or bypass security; no malicious uploads.
• The Bolt chat assistant is for service questions — don’t submit sensitive codes or others’ personal information.

Intellectual property

Site content, text, design, photography and branding belong to Lightning Lock & Key Inc. or its licensors; reproduction or commercial use requires written permission. Third-party marks belong to their owners.

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Nothing here limits warranties stated on a written estimate or invoice for actual locksmith work, or non-waivable rights under California consumer law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lightning Lock & Key Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of this website, and total website-related liability will not exceed $100. Liability for performed locksmith work is addressed by the written terms of that work and applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Lightning Lock & Key Inc. against claims arising from your unlawful use of the site or violation of these terms (for example, requesting entry you were not entitled to).

Governing law & venue

These terms are governed by California law. Disputes arising from the website will be resolved in the state or federal courts serving Nevada County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Website disputes only — job disputes follow that job’s written terms and applicable law, including for work performed in Nevada.
