The four real inputs
- Job type: a lockout differs from an all-keys-lost car key, which differs from a nine-cylinder rekey.
- Distance and timing: a Truckee driveway and a West Shore cabin in a storm are different trips.
- Hardware: standard cylinders, high-security lines and smart locks carry different parts costs.
- Surprises: seized bolts and damaged doors add work — a good locksmith tells you the moment they're visible.
