What's the right lock setup for a Tahoe Airbnb?
A Grade 2+ keypad or smart deadbolt with per-stay codes, standing codes for cleaner and caretaker, lithium batteries each fall, and a mechanical override key with someone local. That setup survives both guests and winter.
Do codes still work if the cabin WiFi dies?
With the locks we recommend, yes — codes are stored in the lock itself, so a dead internet connection doesn't strand a guest at midnight.
